Falls are not just an inevitable part of getting older. Balance and strength can be trained, and physiotherapy is one of the most effective ways to stay steady, confident, and independent.

Talk to me about balance and steadiness

The basics

Why balance and strength matter

As I get older, strength, balance, and reaction times can decline, which raises the risk of falls. A fall, or even the fear of one, can lead people to move less, which unfortunately makes things worse over time.

The encouraging part is that balance and strength respond very well to training at any age. A targeted program rebuilds steadiness and confidence, reduces the risk of falls, and helps you keep doing the things you want to do.

Good to know

Questions I hear a lot

Is it too late to improve my balance?
No. Balance and strength improve with training at any age. Many people become noticeably steadier and more confident with a consistent program.
I am scared of falling during exercises.
That is completely understandable. I start at a safe level with support and progress only as your confidence and steadiness grow.
How long before I notice a difference?
Many people feel steadier within a few weeks of regular training, with continued gains after that.
