Pelvic floor and women's health concerns are common and very treatable, yet often go unspoken. Physiotherapy offers a sensitive, confidential, and effective way to address them.

Talk to me about pelvic floor health

The basics

Women's health physiotherapy

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support the bladder, bowel, and pelvic organs and play a key role in core strength. When these muscles are weak or not working well, it can lead to leaks, heaviness, or discomfort.

These issues are common at many life stages, including after childbirth and around menopause, and they are not something you simply have to live with. Pelvic floor rehabilitation is well-proven, and I approach it sensitively and confidentially.

When to see your doctor

Please see your doctor promptly if you have new pelvic pain, unusual bleeding, blood in the urine, signs of infection, or a noticeable bulge or heaviness that is worsening, so these can be assessed.

Questions I hear a lot

Are leaks just a normal part of ageing or having children?
They are common, but common does not mean you have to accept them. Pelvic floor physiotherapy helps many women improve or resolve these symptoms.
Is the assessment private?
Yes. I approach everything sensitively and confidentially, at a pace you are comfortable with, and I explain each step.
Can this help around menopause?
Yes. Hormonal changes can affect the pelvic floor, and targeted rehabilitation and advice can make a real difference.
